Author Georgie Fear is a well known Registered Dietician and nutrition expert.
Actually, if there's such a thing as Nutrition Ninja, she's it.
What took me years to learn through trial an error, Georgie teaches her readers in a matter of hours. When the opportunity to review her book came up, I jumped at the chance.
With precision and simplicity, Georgie spells out a series of nutrition strategies that are safe, scientifically proven, and effective. What she reveals are not secrets, but rather, a practical approach to applying sound nutrition advice to everyday life.
The book is easy to read, and I personally related to every single one of the habits she spells out. Since reading it, I have begun recommending it a resource to help my clients reach their goals.
The basic premise is this:
Start paying attention
Instead of tracking calories, start tracking hunger and fullness. Instead of eating more frequently to "stoke your metabolism," (doesn't work like that btw), start eating whole foods and lean protein with every meal. As for those treats? Learn to enjoy them mindfully and in moderation, but don't feel that you must cut them out all together.
Georgie emphasizes moderation, balanced nutrition, intuitive and mindful eating. The goal is to help the reader to learn to trust and respond to body's internal signals rather than rely on external cues such as a calorie goal, lists of approved foods, or hard and fast weights and measures.
